ARDS Guide
ARDS Flags Explained
Learn the key motorsport flag meanings and the driver actions expected during ARDS-style preparation.
Why flags matter
Flags are how marshals and race control communicate urgent information. Knowing the colour is only half the job; you need to know what action the flag requires.
Yellow flag
A yellow flag warns of danger ahead. Slow down, be prepared to change direction and avoid overtaking where prohibited. A waved yellow normally indicates a more serious or nearby hazard.
Blue flag
A blue flag warns that a faster car is approaching or attempting to pass. Stay predictable and allow the pass safely.
Red flag
A red flag means the session is stopped. Slow down safely, do not overtake and follow marshal or race control instructions.
